One day, as Jake was unloading his keyboard after returning to the City from a gig on the Peninsula, a pickup truck containing two men pulled up next to him. The men were gesturing wildly and talking excitedly to each other, but before long they turned towards Jake, pointed at him and exclaimed, "YOU! You're a keyboard player!" Bemused and slightly taken aback, Jake responded, "Yes. Yes I am," at which point the two men said, "We need a keyboard player!" And that is how, the following Sunday, Jake found himself playing keyboards in a basement four doors down from his San Francisco apartment, auditioning to join his very first rock band. Two hours later, Jake was the newest member of Long Dark Hallway, Bernal Heights' own alternative psychadelic rock band. Longdark Hallway is:
